Who We Are
Shukr Foundation is a Leading charity organisation empowering people to enhance livelihood, end hunger and overcome hardship. Reaching out to the voiceless and oppressed, particularly Uyghurs and other Turkic people in exile. We envision a world in which the most vulnerable people have the power to lift themselves out of poverty to create vital, healthy lives for their families now and for the future.
Founded in Australia as a non-profit charity organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). We are also endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a 'Deductible Gift Recipient' DGR, where our donors can then claim their donations as a deduction when filing their personal income tax returns.
With a particular focus on communities in crisis, whose needs have not been addressed, we believe every person has a right to education, health care, shelter, food, safe water and protection from war and disaster. These universal rights are guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child but they are often threatened by poverty, violence and discrimination.
Shukr Foundation stands up as a global champion for people's rights. We protect and support people with our programs, advocacy and rapid response during humanitarian emergencies. We also work with governments and civil society partners to protect and advance people's rights.
We advocate transparency
We believe in the importance of transparency and implement and develop projects with good governance and ethical practices.
We aim to provide all our donors with up to date critical information and place great importance on financial transparency and accountability.
We account for every dollar you donate, and monitor projects you fund.
Your donation empowers people in crisis, transforming lives for the better. We are driven by our key values of accountability, collaboration and integrity.
We envision a world where everyone should have the right to realize their full potential, and where the act of giving is not only for the benefit of the poor and needy but of benefit to the donor as well.
