Our approach is different – we target and and support communities and individuals in need that are marginalized and overlooked by many governments and aid organizations.
Our projects aim to:
- End poverty in all its forms and provide lasting improvements to quality of life and livelihood
- Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, of all ages
- Provide access to quality education as a foundation for creating a future that is secure, just, and free from poverty
In a world where everyone has the right to realize their full potential, and
where the act of giving is not only for the benefit of the poor and needy but also for the benefit to the donor.
We believe that by extending a helping hand, we are supporting those in need to lead a healthy, productive lives, we can help disadvantaged people help themselves out of poverty.
Right now more than two million Uyghur Muslims are in Chinese concentration camps.
Men are taken to the camps, their children to orphanages and women are forced to live and marry han Chinese men.
They are forced to denounce their religion, their ethnic identity, and are subject to cruel torture.
Currently Turkey hosts over 50,000 Uyghurs, many of whom are women and children whose husbands/fathers have been sent to concentration camps or imprisoned. They have also been cut off from any form of contact with family members in East Turkestan, making it nearly impossible to receive financial support.
This has left thousands of Uyghur families torn apart and traumatized, often leaving behind women and children.
Shukr Foundation is currently running a number of appeals and campaigns to help children and families in need. Providing much needed aid to improve their lives.
